Fees

Fees

Coastal Health Medical Centre has prided itself on providing affordable care to patients in our community and we strive to provide high quality care and sustainable practices well into the future.

We are a bulk billing practice for most items, however there are some items that are not covered by Medicare and these will attract a private fee.

Private medicals (including insurance reports and sporting injury claims), travel vaccinations and non-government vaccines will attract a private fee. These fees will be advised at the time of booking or prior to the consultation.

New Patients

New patient fee (first visit only): $110

We are accepting new patients at our practices, but it is subject to the Doctors’ availability and their current patient load.

Due to the chronic Doctor shortage on the Central Coast we are unable to place all requests for new patients. So that we can ensure we are offering a comprehensive service to all our patients (new and existing), requests for new patients will be placed on a list for our Doctors to review each day. If they have capacity to take on new patients our reception team will contact you to make an appointment at the next available appointment. We are currently booked 2 weeks in advance. If you are not contacted by the end of the day, unfortunately we don’t currently have capacity to assist with your healthcare needs.

All new patients will be required to pay a private fee for their first visit – payable on booking.

If you are unable to attend your appointment please give us adequate notice so we can reschedule. The fee is non-refundable if you do not attend.

Subsequent visits will be bulk-billed.

Cancellation Fees

We understand that unplanned issues can come up and you may need to cancel an appointment, however when a patient does not show up for a scheduled appointment, another patient loses an opportunity to be seen.

On Monday 8th November 2022 we implemented a new Cancellation Policy and fees for non-attendance or failure to give us adequate notice.

You can cancel or change your Coastal Health Medical appointment without incurring any fees, as long as you give us at least two hours notice.

To cancel or change your appointment please phone us on 4333 1222 or cancel on HotDoc.

From Monday 8th November, missed or cancelled appointments with less than two hours notice will incur a fee of $20. No part of this fee can be claimed back from Medicare and must be paid prior to booking the next appointment.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation as we implement this new policy, which will enable us to open otherwise unused appointments to better serve the needs of all patients.
